Briefstarter is operated by Antonio Bortone (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or continuing to use the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service. Contact: hello@getbriefstarter.com.

Briefstarter generates fictional client briefs for design practice — a made-up client, a scenario, objectives, audience, deliverables and a timeline. Briefs are practice material. They are not real commissions and no real client relationship is created.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Briefstarter. If you are using it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for that organisation.

Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must not:

• use the service unlawfully, or for fraud, spam or harassment
• attempt to generate illegal, hateful, defamatory or sexually exploitative content
• probe, scan or interfere with the security of the service, or upload malware or attempt to circumvent rate limits, paywalls or technical restrictions
• scrape or bulk-extract generated content, or resell or redistribute the service
• reverse engineer the service except where the law expressly allows it

We may remove content, filter or refuse outputs, and suspend accounts that break these rules.

Briefs are produced by an AI model. Outputs may be inaccurate, generic, implausible or similar to text generated for other users — we do not claim they are unique, original, factually correct or legally cleared for any purpose. Do not rely on them as professional, legal, financial or business advice. Any company names, people or figures in a brief are fictional; any resemblance to a real business is coincidental and unintended.

You are responsible for what you request, how you use the output, and for checking it before using it publicly or commercially. As between you and us, we do not claim ownership of the brief text produced for you; you may use it for personal, educational and portfolio purposes.

We retain all rights in the service itself — the software, interface, design, branding and documentation. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under your current plan.

If you believe generated content infringes your rights, email hello@getbriefstarter.com with the details and we will review it and remove or restrict content where appropriate. Accounts that repeatedly infringe may be terminated.

Without an account you may generate one brief per device. A free account includes 3 successful AI briefs per calendar month and up to 10 saved briefs. Briefstarter Pro is available monthly or yearly and includes 35 successful AI briefs per calendar month, Advanced difficulty and unlimited saved briefs. Included briefs do not roll over to the next month. Generating and regenerating each use one brief; failed, interrupted or sample briefs are not counted. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.

A one-time credit pack (25 additional generations) can be bought by anyone, does not renew and does not expire. One credit is used per generation beyond the included monthly allowance, and for Advanced briefs without a subscription. If a generation fails and a sample brief is shown instead, the credit is returned.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, currency, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms. Prices are shown at checkout and may include tax depending on your location.

You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals and you keep Pro access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Switching between monthly and yearly takes effect at the end of the current period; we do not pro-rate. Credit packs are one-time purchases and are not affected by cancelling a subscription.

We aim to keep Briefstarter available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change, and generation depends on third-party AI providers whose availability we do not control. We may perform maintenance or withdraw features with reasonable notice where practical.

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious misuse. You can stop using the service and request deletion of your account at any time. On termination, access ends and your data is handled as described in the Privacy Notice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

You agree to cover claims arising from your unlawful use of the service, your breach of these terms, or your use of generated content.

You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control. These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, and the courts of Portugal have jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
